There is endless love and endless scenery in books!

四月下旬，厦门华锐莱普顿幼儿园展开了持续一周的“我最喜欢的书”读书周活动，每个小朋友们都可以选择自己喜欢的书籍带来幼儿园，与其他孩子分享阅读的快乐。

In late April, Xiamen Huarui Repton Kindergarten launched a reading week with the theme of “My Favorite Book”. Every child chose their favorite books to bring to the kindergarten and share with other children.

在阅读周的尾声，我们举行了一场“我最喜欢的故事”英文故事比赛，给孩子营造一个想说、敢说、喜欢说的氛围，进一步激发幼儿的口语表达热情，为孩子们搭建了一个展示自我的平台。

At the end of the reading week, we held a “My Favorite Story” English story competition, to create an atmosphere for children to want to speak, dare to speak, and enjoy speaking English, and to further stimulate the children’s enthusiasm for oral expression, build a learning environment for the children and to create a platform to express themselves.

本次故事比赛我们邀请了重量级嘉宾来担任评委，他们是从英国远道而来的英国莱普顿公学指导组专家Jonathan，IHS英文老师Teacher Samuel，厦门华锐莱普顿幼儿园外方园长Anthony，幼儿园英文老师Teacher Deidre和Teacher Bethanie，他们将会公平公正的为小选手们打分。

We invited heavyweight guests to serve as judges for this story competition. They were Jonathan, an expert from the guidance group of Repton College in the United Kingdom, Teacher Samuel, an IHS English teacher, and the International Principal of Xiamen Huarui Repton Kindergarten, Principal Anthony, as well as our Kindergarten English teachers Teacher Deidre and Teacher Beth. They scored the young contestants fairly and carefully.

厦门华锐莱普顿幼儿园第一届英文故事大赛正式拉开序幕。此次比赛我们采用分组比赛的形式，将K2和K3的小选手们分成A.B.C——初阶、进阶、高阶三个组别，并通过抽签选择出场顺序。

Xiamen Huarui Repton Kindergarten’s first English Story Contest officially kicked off. In this competition we divided the young learners of K2 and K3 into three groups of A.B.C—beginner, intermediate, and advanced, and selected the order of their appearance by drawing lots.

Let us review the wonderful moments of our English Story Competition together!

A组的小朋友为初阶组，虽然他们都选择了简短的故事，但是孩子们非常自信的完成了自己的故事。有的故事是关于一个小女生的梦想，有的是森林里喜欢冬天的小兔子，还有的是和大家分享自己爱好的小蝴蝶…有经典的大灰狼和小猪的故事，也有自己原创的故事。作为初阶组的孩子，他们都能够自信地站在舞台上向大家分享自己喜欢的故事，让我们为他们的表现鼓掌。

The children in group A were our elementary participants. Although they all chose short stories, the children told their stories with great confidence. One of the stories was about a little girl’s dream, there were rabbits in the forest who liked winter, and there were butterflies who shared their favorite things with everyone… There are classic stories about the big bad wolf and the three little pigs, and there were original stories created by the children themselves. As the children of the junior group, they were able to stand on stage confidently and share their favorite stories with everyone, and we applauded their performances.

B组的小朋友为进阶组。他们一个个从容的走上舞台迫不及待地投入角色。有的拿着自己制作的道具板，告诉我们应该爱护地球；有的穿上小猪的服装，为我们讲述小猪挖宝藏的故事；还有认真孵蛋的小猫……每一位孩子都展现出了他们的活力、创造力与自信。

The children in group B were our intermediate group. One by one, they walked onto the stage calmly and stepped into their roles. Some held prop boards made by themselves and told us that we should love the earth; some wore piggy costumes and told us a story about a pig digging for treasure. Each child showed their energy, creativity, and confidence. They shared their favorite stories with everyone, and the audience was amazed!

C组的小朋友为高阶组，他们落落大方，带着有趣的道具，清晰流畅的讲述他们最喜欢的故事。有好饿好饿的毛毛虫、还有好饿好饿的狐狸想要借着盒子拿取食物却频频失败的故事；有在故事中学会了如何进行垃圾分类和回收；还有让人害怕的大大的绿色怪兽！Go Away Big Green Monster！高阶组的比赛十分激烈，小选手们的表现十分生动，让台下的评委和观众都沉浸在故事的快乐里。

The children in group C were our advanced group. They all approached the competition wholeheartedly, brought interesting props, and told their favorite stories clearly and fluently. There were stories about the very hungry caterpillar and the very hungry fox who tried to get food from a box but failed frequently. There was a story about how to sort and recycle garbage and there was a scary story about the Big green monster! Go away Big Green Monster! The competition in the high-level group was very fierce, and the performances of the young contestants were very vivid, which immersed the judges and audience in the story.

不仅如此，我们还邀请了K1和Pre K的小朋友作为特邀表演选手，跟我们分享他们最喜欢的绘本故事。虽然他们是特邀表演选手，但是他们的表现可是一点也不逊色呢！

In addition to this, we invited children from K1 and Pre-K as special guest performers to share their favorite stories with us. Although they were specially invited performers, their performances were superior!

评委点评

比赛之后，评委们给小选手们做了简短的点评，他们给予了小选手们很高的评价，为他们自信、完整的表演完自己的英文故事而感到开心和骄傲。

After the competition, the judges made brief comments about the contestants. They gave high praise to the young contestants and were impressed and delighted that they performed their English stories confidently and completely.

最后，孩子们按照名次上台领奖，并与我们的嘉宾评委合照，家长们也给孩子们送上了鲜花，给孩子们最大的鼓励。

In the end, the children came to the stage to receive the awards according to their rankings, and they took photos with our guest judges. Parents also gave flowers to the children, giving the children the greatest encouragement that they could receive.

通过举办本次英语故事比赛，不仅充分调动了孩子们练习英语口语和英语故事的兴趣和积极性，提高自身的口语水平，更让孩子们能积极参与英语活动，大胆用英语进行表达，并感受到活动带给他们的自信与快乐。

By holding this English story competition, the Kindergarten not only fully mobilized the children’s interest and enthusiasm in practicing oral English and in reading English stories, it also improved their oral English levels, encouraged them to boldly express themselves in English, and enabled them to participate in English activities which bring them confidence and happiness.
